So ever since i was growing up, I've always had it harder than my
younger brother. My parents always made mistakes on me first and learnt
to not make it on my younger brother. I was treated like I had to be
responsible for my brother and around the house while my parents treated
my brother like their baby even through high school. When I had
difficulty choosing subjects and failing my exams, my parents learnt
from my mistake and helped out my brother better with his homework and
choosing the right subjects.
When my parents split up, my mom was bad mouthing about my father to me which disturbed me psychologically, she never said anything to my brother. After the divorce, my dad told me he was gay when I was only 13 and I didn't know what that meant at the time but it made me sad. He never told my brother this until he turned 18.
I used to work 4 days a week at Mcdonalds during high school because my mom wouldn't buy me anything and I wanted my own computer and broadband internet. It affected my grades but my mom didn't seem to be concerned. My brother got better grades than me because I helped him with homework and he never had to work during high school and my mom let my brother buy a computer when he entered high school.
I became mentally ill and I had trouble finding job after community college and after 1 and a half year of nothing, my mom finally helped me hook me up with her casual job but she was upset. After my brother graduated high school, my mom hooked my brother up with her casual job immediately even though he had zero work experience.
My brother got to learn all the life experiences from me and I told my brother so many things. I told him all about the useful tools he can use online to improve his intelligence, such as working memory training. I even built him his own gaming computer for free and hooked him up with unlimited broadband which I didn't have access to his age.
I used to get better grades than my brother until grade 10 when I started Mcdonalds. But because of too much work, I wasn't able to get enough grades to go to university. Now, my brother is in university and he treats me like sh*t. My mom calls me a failure and treats me like my dad and allies with my brother as if his her perfect son.
I recently developed rectal prolapse due to too much stress and my mom has been even more mean to me since. She says she regrets having me and wants me to move out or live with my dad. My brother has been bullying me as well by calling me a child just because I have debilitation and can't do much.
But I had surgery now and I'm starting to get well again but I just wish I was never born so I wouldn't have to live like this. Is it common for older brother raised by single mother to feel this way?
